Ready to move your account? Let's get started!

When is the best time to move?

Whenever you’re ready! As of now, there’s no deadline for when you can move your account. Once you’re given the offer to join the new TicketLeap, it’s because we think your account is a good fit. Although there’s no specific date, the most important thing is to plan ahead and make sure you’re absolutely ready before starting the process.

For organizers in the middle of selling events:

If you currently have events with tickets on sale, we recommend you wait until all of these events are over before migrating your account. This will ensure the smoothest transition for all your ticketing pages and their data, and you’ll then be ready to set up your next event on the new TicketLeap!

What data will (and will not) transfer to my new account?

As you transition to our new TicketLeap system, certain data will automatically transfer, while some may not. Once you opt into moving your account, most of your data will transfer to the new TicketLeap. We strongly advise you to take proactive measures to back up any data that may not carry over during the move if you need it. With that in mind, here's a list of data that will NOT transfer when you migrate your account:

  • Historical financial information from events before 1/1/2020
  • Detailed order-specific information, such as the breakdown of ticket face value, buyer-paid fees, etc.
  • Payment dates and amounts
  • Inactive tickets and orders (i.e., they've been refunded or voided)
  • Event data from events more than 3 years old.
  • Inactive discount codes
  • Individual discounts to specific email addresses
  • Media galleries
  • Tracking codes
  • Widgets
  • Previous email campaigns
  • Traffic sources report
  • Secondary user admin permissions
  • Bank account information (sensitive encrypted data)
  • Google Analytics account and pixel tracking information

Very important note: please make sure to transfer any of these items above that you need before initiating your account migration (they'll be lost otherwise).

How to pull any data that’s not transferred to your new account

How do you pull this additional data, you might ask? Once you know what data you’ll want to transfer, you can access it by going to your reports in the admin dashboard to download from your account. Simply run a data export or sales report to retrieve the historical information you need.

What will this process look like?

Ready to move your account? Sweet! Once you opt in, here’s what to expect during and after the migration process:

  • Once you've migrated, you will need to create a new password for yourself. You’ll also need to re-add any additional users who you want to have access to your account.
  • There’s going to be a bit of a learning curve. The new TicketLeap is built to be used on mobile or desktop devices, with a modern look and feel. So, give yourself a bit of time to get acclimated!
  • As mentioned above, not all of your data will move with you (e.g., events and orders from before 2020 will stay behind). Also, any specific ticket sale amounts for upcoming events made on your old event listings won’t show up on the new platform after the move. The order and ticket information such as name, bar code, etc. will show on your new account; however, the dollar amounts of those previous amounts will NOT appear in your new account. You can absolutely get a download of this data before moving! We just want to give you a heads up that it won’t show up in the new TicketLeap.
  • You’ll need to re-enter some information. For example, we’ll ask for some information about your organization again and you’ll need to add your bank account. We didn’t want to risk exposing your sensitive information, so we’re asking you to re-enter it just this once.
  • Your upcoming events will need a little love. Not much, but definitely worth a little time to review. For example, the main event image now uses a different size (the same size that Facebook uses for its event images). While you’re in there, check out some of the new features available, like inserting videos into your event descriptions or adding sales tax!

FAQs

How long does the migration process itself take? Do I need to do anything, or does your team handle it?

It should take less than an hour, and you’ll receive a confirmation email when your new account is ready (we handle moving your account for you!). If you don't receive that email within an hour, please contact our client support team.

Can I stop the move once it starts?

No, it’s not possible to stop moving your account once it’s been initiated.

Can I still sell tickets on my current TicketLeap account after moving it?

No, your events will now be sold on the new TicketLeap. All links to your ticketing pages will redirect from our old ticketing platform to the new TicketLeap platform.

Will I still be able to sign into my current TicketLeap account once I move to the new TicketLeap?

Once you’ve moved your account, you will not be able to access your old one. If you need to access something from your previous account after migrating, please contact our support team. They will still have access to your former account for a limited period.
