Everything You Need to Know About Reserved Seating

As part of our mission to continually improve our ticketing platform for your events, we’ve done some renovating. Here’s how we’ve updated reserved seating to better accommodate your needs.

What’s new with this feature?

Seeing that the new TicketLeap is a mobile-first ticketing platform, our new reserved seating purchase process now is optimized for mobile devices! Now, attendees can easily select and purchase their seats straight from their smartphones.

In addition, here are some of the new capabilities of our updated reserved seating feature:

  • Set a focal point that determines which seats are closest to your stage and shows attendees what the best available seats in the house are depending on price level.
  • Add a background image to your chart to overlay with your seats and location markers.
  • Set different price levels for various sections of your seats. You can also add flexible ticket types (e.g., regular, military, senior, child).
  • Add curved and angled rows, plus unique spacing between them, for a more accurate floor layout.
  • Mark accessible seats (ADA) for attendees, which can be sold both online and at the box office.
  • Prevent purchases of multiple seats with a single seat left between them, so every seat in the house is filled for your next sold out show!
  • Sell tickets to a general admission area on your seating chart.
  • Add rectangular and round tables for a more accurate representation of your venue layout.

What’s changing with this feature?

Our reserved seating got a makeover! Our new seating chart builder has a lot more tools built in than our previous builder did. Our new reserved seating software is much more robust, but we promise it’s just as easy to get the hang of! Need help creating your new seating charts? Please note: No reserved seating charts or active orders on your current account will be migrated to the new TicketLeap. You’ll need to grab screenshots of your seating charts and rebuild them on the latest version of our platform. Additionally, you will need to migrate your current TicketLeap account and should NOT create a separate account on the new platform. Please contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

FAQs

Will my current floor layouts be transferred over or will I have to build them again?

No, your current seating charts in TicketLeap will not be transferred over, so we highly recommend taking screenshots of them to reference as you rebuild them on the new platform. If you need help building your reserved seating charts, please feel free to contact us via [email protected] or (877) 849-5327 and we’ll be happy to assist you!

Should I migrate to the new TicketLeap if I currently have reserved seating tickets on sale?

Not yet! You’ll need to wait until the events that are selling reserved seating tickets have ended. If you have any issues or need further clarification on when is best to move your account, please contact us via [email protected] or (877) 849-5327.

Does reserved seating ticketing cost extra?

Not at all! Our reserved seating feature is always available to everyone for free when you sign up for TicketLeap – no contracts or restrictive service tiers necessary.

Do I have to move my current account to the new TicketLeap or can I just create a different account on the new TicketLeap instead?

You’ll need to move your current account to the new TicketLeap by following a few simple steps once you log into your dashboard. Please do NOT create a separate account on the new TicketLeap. This is because, if you did so, we would not be able to merge those two accounts together nor can we move an account on our old platform over to an account already set up on the new TicketLeap.
